WP Media Folder Gallery Addon Documentation

1.1 Install

The WP Media Folder Gallery addon is a separate plugin that needs to be activated separatelly. In order to install our plugin you should use standard WordPress installer or unzip and put all the folder in /wp-content/plugin.

Then click on activate plugin, to see WP Media Folder Gallery addon menu appear on the WordPress left menu.

1.2 Update the plugin

In order to update the WP Media Folder Gallery addon, you can use the WordPress default updater. You can also remove and install the new version from a .zip file downloaded on www.joomunited.com. In any case you won’t lose any content because everything is database stored.

Be sure to always have the latest version to avoid security and stability problem.

To update the paid version, you need to login to your JoomUnited account from the WordPress settings: Settings > General

Then use your JoomUnited account login and password. After a successful login the button turns to blue with a text Disconnect my JoomUnited account

Then finally, you can update all the JoomUnited commercial plugins from the WordPress standard updated.

2.1 Add gallery to post/page

In order to add galleries to post/page, you need to click Add Media button in the Editor. Then the WP Media Folder Gallery main view appear, you can choose the gallery. Next, press the Insert button.

The gallery will be materialized in your article by a dark grey area.

Now save your content and it should be displayed on public part.
The first time you insert your gallery in your content, you need to save your content. 
If you click back on the WP Media Folder Gallery dark grey area in your content, then on Edit button, you’ll simply open back your gallery.

Then save your page, post... you've done, you've added a gallery.

There are 2 options while inserting gallery:

  • Gallery navigation: Load gallery tree navigation
  • Display images tags: Display image tags as display filter

You can access Gallery from the menu Media > Media Folder Galleries.

The main view of WP Media Folder Gallery will be appear.

From here you can add a new gallery, the images can be imported from Wordpress or uploaded from your computer. You can select a theme and parent gallery. Then click Save button.

Or create Gallery from folder in WP Media Folder, you should click Gallery From Folder button, then choose the folders and theme for it, finally press Create button.

You can edit image information from gallery, including WordPress SEO information. You can also define specific internal or external links along with image tags.

Global settings are available through the menu Settings > Media Folder > Gallery. You need to scroll down little bit to see the settings.

  • Galleries breadcrumb: Display a breadcrumb when using multiple levels galleries 
  • Gallery folder tree: Display a folder tree when using multiple levels galleries navigation
  • Tag filtering on galleries: Display a tag list above the galleries view to filter images using 

There are 7 themes in total. The 5 themes (Portfolio, Masonry, Square grid, Material) which have completely same settings as Default gallery theme, only 2 themes Slider gallery and Flow slide have more options which listed below.

3.3 Flow slide theme
