A customer takes photos with her iphone and uploads them to dropbox. Can I install your plugin to give them direct access to the dropbox images in the WordPress media library without having to upload the images from dropbox (or her iphone)? And do these images "live" in the dropbox folder or can images be synced with the media library?

Yes, you can give access to users to access Dropbox folders in the Media library. Folder restrictions will be applied for cloud folders also.

The data will be synced both ways Media <=> Dropbox.
