Hello!

We are interested in your plugin WP Media Folder as we are running an event page with at least 100 users and therefore need some media sorting possibility. We tested some other plugins but none of them did the job. Here is our case and what we want to achieve:

Status quo:
Our website is hosting hundreds of events and of course featured images for each event. Each event is in fact a custom post type by Events manager plugin. There are two possibilities for creating an event and upload a picture for this event:
1. Create an event by logged-in wordpress user who have different permissions (admins, editors and custom roles)
2. Create an event anonymously (in fact Wordpress user with limited rights) on front-end without login: guests are allowed to use a form to post event data and upload a featrued image

What we want to achieve:
We want these featued images to be sorted on user basis: one media folder for "anonymously" uploaded event images and one media folder for each logged-in wordpress user. I read the docs and this should be possible with WP Media Folders. But we also have to fine-tune Users should be allowed to see all folders but only change/edit/delete own imagery. Admins should have the possibility to change everything. We are using the famous Plugin "User Role Editor" for management of permissions by user role. But it seems to me, that it is difficult to set permissions for attachements as there are no standard permissions for attachements provided by wordpress (see: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/19834)

Our questions:
A. Is the described access configuration possible with WP Media Folders? Or is every user allowed to edit/delete all imagery and all folders?
B. As there is no free version: is there any working demo version? I saw your demo site but it seems to be more like a documentation. Or is it possible to download a trial version? So we can test your plugin before buying it.

Thank you in advance for your reply and this winderful plugin!

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

A. Is the described access configuration possible with WP Media Folders? Or is every user allowed to edit/delete all imagery and all folders?

We have an option Media access by User / User role, if you enable, users can view and manage their own files and folders only.
https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/wp-media-folder-documentation#toc-4-3-media-access
For your requirement, it needs to be customized to work smoothly, our dev will help you after purchasing.

B. As there is no free version: is there any working demo version? I saw your demo site but it seems to be more like a documentation. Or is it possible to download a trial version? So we can test your plugin before buying it.

I'm sorry we don't have any trial/limited version as our plugin are open source.
But, if you encounter any trouble of compatibility, our developer in charge can fix that for you or we can refund you.

Hope it helps!

Thank you very much for your response! Maybe I have to clearify my questions:

A. If read about the option "Media access by User / User role"... but user can only "view and manage their own files and folders". But in our case they should be allowed to see all media but only edit/delte own media. Are there any special permission rules introduced by WP Media Folder which we can adapt to our needs? E.g. permissions like edit_media oder edit_others_media like on posts (edit_posts and edit_others_posts)? At least admins should be possible to edit/delete all stuff.

B. Refering to your refund policy (https://www.joomunited.com/refund-policy) it is not possible to get an refund in our case. JoomUnited says that there is no refund in case: "You feel the product you purchased is not the best fit for your requirements". Can you please confirm that there would be an refund in our case (if the developer cannot find any solution)?

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

Yes, so as I said, our dev will help you customize to fit your request after purchasing.

In this case, you will get refund if our dev can not help you then.

Hope it helps!
