Hello, I have a question about the OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive Plugin Integration with WordPress Media Folder. If we synchronize PDF files from OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive with our Wordpress websites and add these PDF files to certain pages. Is it then possible to replace the PDF files within OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive with modified/new versions of the PDF files? If so, are the PDF files on the Wordpress website automatically updated/replaced, both in the Media Folder and on the pages themselves where the PDF files have been added? (the PDF file url has to remain the same). Thank you for your answer.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, certainly, we just index file information on Media library, files are actually stored on cloud servers.
We read file ID, so any update on files will be sync to Media library.

Thank you for your response! I had asked the same question via the chat and they indicated that the files that you replace in Onedrive, for example, are not automatically replaced in the Wordpress media, but that an extra file is then created with a different name (for example, name.pdf becomes then name-2.pdf). I want to double check just to be sure.

One more question, does WP Media Folder replace the default Wordpress Media library?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

I had asked the same question via the chat and they indicated that the files that you replace in Onedrive, for example, are not automatically replaced in the Wordpress media, but that an extra file is then created with a different name (for example, name.pdf becomes then name-2.pdf). I want to double check just to be sure.

It will sync the new version of files from cloud server even if you rename the files, because actually file ID is not changed.
Finally, the file will display on Media library as your current version on the cloud server.

does WP Media Folder replace the default Wordpress Media library?

It's not replaced. Our WP Media Folder plugin is based on the WP media library default. We just create virtual folders to manage media in the library.
Your files on the Media library still remain if you uninstall WP Media Folder plugin.

Thank you for your response! By File ID, you mean the File URL?

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

By File ID, you mean the File URL?

No, the file ID that a parameter to take from the cloud server, it's not the file URL.
