Questions about the plugin

- If we install this plugin, will it detect the files that we have over in the dropbox?

After connecting Dropbox with WP Media Folder, a root folder will be automatically created in your Dropbox account.
All files and folders will then be uploaded to this root folder. Please go to the link below for further information:

- Will our files in the dropbox be carried over to our hosting? (We want it to stay in the dropbox since our hosting can't accomodate the size of our files)

Certainly, all files associated with the cloud will be saved directly on the respective cloud server.
In the Media library, we simply index the file information.

- Will it be compatible with ACF?

Yes, you can open WP Media Folder button in the editor view.
