I really like what I see with what you have done here, but unfortunately it appears that you are still missing a key feature that I need: the ability to dynamically change the content of albums based on Tags. Today I use NexGen Gallery to solve this problem, but the program is old and slow. I'd like to change to your product, if it supports this feature.

Here is what I want to do: upload a set of images, that have multiple people in them. I tag the names of individuals that appear in each photo. Some photos have multiple individuals. Then by using Tags, I can provide a set of pages that have albums for each person. These albums are dynamically updated based on the tags, and I don't have to update multiple copies of the images. There is just one copy of each image, and the tag provides the different way to reach the image.

Am I right that there is no way to do this today? If not, can you please consider adding?

Many thanks, David

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.
Am I right that there is no way to do this today?

Yes, we dont have Tags in Gallery; however, WP Media Folder plugin can automatically update images to Gallery. I think it can be useful with your requirement.
We have feature in order to import images from NextGen: https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/wp-media-folder-documentation#toc-3-5-nextgen-gallery-importer

Thanks a lot!
Cheers,

Hi,

Currently that's not possible indeed, you can only add an image into several folders since the last 4.1 version, maybe it would help.

The tag on images is a feature we will implement in a full gallery add-on along with a better interface to manage galleries and themes of galleries.

Thanks for the reply. I look forward to that update. In the meantime just to be clear, if I add an image to several folders, am I correct in understanding that it will not be creating a duplicate version of that image?

Hi,

No duplicate version of an image, it's exactly like a tag but using folders, the image will not be duplicated.

Cheers,
