Overwrite Existing File

this is a pre-sale question:


when using the "Replace an image with a new one" feature, how does it affect an image that has been attached to a page/post or as an attachment - will it automatically update for all instances, or are there exceptions?


is it possible to rename a file, and if so, will it automatically change the filename when attached to a page/post or as other attachment?
