Hi,

Once I sync an external folder and it's contents will each future sync update the file AND metadata (to the database) or will it leave existing files alone? I cant find a definitive answer to this question anywhere.

Basically I want to sync photos from Desktop to web folder and then have thoses photos displayed plus the relevant metadata stored in the database. If I then re-sync Desktop to web and there are changes to files or metadata I want those changes reflected in the database and the photo file.

It will be sync files with its title only, not including metadata.

I want to sync photos from Desktop to web folder

Note that, you can sync files from your server only.

Hi,

Sorry I wasn’t clear; I use a separate tool to sync Desktop to web folder. THEN I want to sync those photos to Wordpress Library and database.

There has to be an ongoing relationship so that each time I change a photo and sync from Desktop to web those changes are reflected within Wordpress.

I had hoped your tool would cover me as it looks great in every other way.

My search continues though.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.
You can set time option: Sync delay (by mins) to sync images from your folder in Ftp to WP Media Folder automatically.

Hi,

Just to be clear then are you saying that any changes I make to the FTP’d files will be synced by WP Media Folder, or will it just upload new files automatically?

If Media Folder will change existing files then I can use it (and use RML for metadata) and that is fine, but if it leaves existing files alone and only uploads new files it’s still no good for me.
