Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Does NextGEN gallery importer has an option to delete/remove physical file from server once it's imported from NextGen? Or it only creates a symlink to an actual file located at NextGen gallery location?

NextGEN gallery importer will not remove automatically your files of NextGen after importing them to the Media library.
WP Media Folder will generate new path of your media when importing.

Also does imported content of NextGen galleries can be offloaded to Amazon s3 as though it was in WP Media Library?

After the importing to Media library, images will be uploaded to S3 if the option is enabled.

So after import from NextGen to Media Library, once all files are imported I can manually remove/delete NextGen files, correct?
So when I create new gallery in NextGen the new files will be stored in NextGen or in Media Library?

Yes, you can remove files in NextGen after importing to Media library.

So when I create new gallery in NextGen the new files will be stored in NextGen or in Media Library?

New galleries still will be stored in NextGen section.

Thank you for explaining, so it will be helpful only for someone who used the NextGen gallery before to import its files to Media Gallery but is not planning to use NextGen after that.
Perhaps it may be useful for someone, but I thought I can offload the NextGen gallery to Media Library as well, that would be awesome.
