Dear All,

would love to try the WP FOlder plugin with the galleries, is there a trial youoffer for a limited period of a few days ?

a) question is , for the multi site support , would we be able to share the media library files for more than one website on WordPress , if bothare hosted on the same physical server , and how does it work ? some of the tags / folders tokenomics would be the same , some different on the two sites , but both could share the same library basicall
b) is it possible to read out meta data from google photos , we have a massive amount of photos that have all descriptions etc on google photos , and retrieving that would be very paramount , as its impossible to manually transfer that
c) do we have to use your galleries or can we use any galleries ? is it possible with your gallery option to filter in the frontend by tags / folders / categories etc ?

a little bit of presales help / trial option would be appreciated

with best regards

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

a. Our WP Media Folder plugin is based on the WP media library default. We just create virtual folders to manage media in the library.
As you know in the multi-sites website, each site has its own Media library, and it can not be shared.
You can sync folders from your server in our plugin, please go here for more information:

https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/200-wp-media-folder-configuration#toc-5-server-folder-sync

b. Reading metadata from Google photo is not supported in our plugin. You should import images from Google Photos if you want to use them.

c. You can use any galleries, however, I recommend you use our Gallery Addon to use predefined themes.
You can filter by tag and by category tree as well.
For further information, kindly refer to the links provided below:

thanks for your reply . just a quick thing that came to my mind this morning . if i understand , you can sync a certain google photos folder to a folder in WP folder . now we have some identical photos that we have in e.g. a folder called Van gogh ( by artist ) and the same will be in "impressionist painters among other impressionist painters ) . when syncing them , will there be a connection , so that e.g. if someone is in the impressionist folder and filters for only Van gogh , will it see that pic that came from google photos as the same or would we have to recategorize all photos again . because if your software recognized them as two different photos , there wont be a connection i suppose and the idea of different folders doesnt really help as we would hae to go through all photos ( 10000s ) again and cross link / tag them , hope this makes sense .

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

After connecting successfully with your Google Photos account, you should import images or album from Google Photos to Media library.
Then you can use those images or album as normally. For further information, kindly refer to the links provided below:

Hello ,

we have acually have purchased the software in the meantime and are overall pleased with the features but many essentials which we thought would have been implemented are missing .

a) Tags

many other media Manager plugins seem to have tag management included ,
- feature to bulk update tags is absolutely important as we need tags to filter in both frontend as well as backend and i cant believe that not many others users are missing this feature and it should be easy to implement . Nextgen Gallery got a very nice Tag Manager and also tag bulk update function in their gallery management
- Very surprised that it is not even possible to change tags manually on a one to one basis inside the media details window . can you please advise why that is not there !? the only place we can see a field Tags is from the gallery view when we click on certain images there there is a field , but when clicking a field it doesnt auto populate already used tags etc , its basically non-existent
- QUESTION :after researching quote a bit , we then installed the free WP SEO Meta plugin by your own company and even though it has a bulk tag update functionality , it doesn't use the WP media folder organisation and also it only gives the options to use image name for tags but nothing freely defined as well , i suppose this is not something that is available in the premium version . furthermore , if we add a tag there , it doesnt seem to appear in the tags in the Galleries !? is that not a global shared field ?

b) backend sorting and filtering
we imported a few hundred photo and i was very surprised that under the filte roption there are only the image size and date filters but nothing to filter e.g. by tags or even folders .
e.g. if we have a media in two different flders ( it works well to bulk apply certain image to another folder ) , then we want to be able to filter them as well both in FRONTEND AND BACKEND .
e.g. an image can be in folder black and also in a folder square . so it would be nice to list only black square AND black mediaitems across the entire portfolion . with all the extensive features you have , i would have thought this was the first thing it was able to do , almost unusable for our purpose , and i can imagine that many others usrs will have the same feature wish. And even more than in the backend it should be possibe to filter in the frontend by is in Category A and in Category B etc .. would even be happy to forget about tags and organize most things in folders, but there is no way this can be filtered in the frontend in the gallery view . frontend filtering for tags of course would be even better , i mean you do have the option but its either or per gallery folder .
would be nice to have a Gallery that has ALL items , eve if its 1000s for a customer to filter through our entire range by using filter logics based on tgas and or even folders .. allowing to tic certain tags / foldes in the frontend and not just one .. again , cat believe there hadnt been demand for that so far .

c) media management / tags / multi lining and name updating

partly covered above , but it would be very helfpul to Bulk update links for a selection of multiple images in a folder for LINK , Tags , Alt taxt , Description , etc ... this is such a basic and important feature which would make this media management alternative so much more powerfull . and also a way to link them with existing tokenomics .. and give the options to integrate certain tokenomics in the media manager like folder categories for woocommerce etc .

d) google photos

google photos integratio is GREAT . we have all our media in google photos however have the following QUESTIONS / Feature Requests

1) is it possible to cloud sync all google photos to a certain folder live all the time ?!
2) if not possible is there a way to sync bacj the status f what items have already been imported to WP Media folder and dhow / filter that in the google photos view , so that we know whats been imported and what not .. when dealing with 15 - 20 000 items this is a MUST !
3) alternatively can weuse the existing google photos /album inrastructure to live sync between a photo album in google photos to a folder on WP media folder ?
4) very often the sync stops and stalls .. when clicking entire album withlout loading more photos in the preview , shoudnt it import the entire google photos album ?
5) possible to implement media count in google photos overview similar to the internal WP gallery ?

e)
Gallery views for larger selections

the only option to show a very large selection of our media in the frontend seems to be by creating a hierachry through gallerys and then sharing the parent gallery . QUestion , do they have to have the same gallery style ?( parent and sub Category ) also we tried this by having an empty parent gallery and it didnt seem to work then .. again not very matred feel just yet and no filtering by several tags e.g. selecting 2 or 3 tags instead of just one , but then tags are impossible anyway cause they cant be bulk edited
- also it doesnt seem to be possible to limit the number of of maximum images in a gallery and then use pagination to skip to the next pages ?!?

we have seen many great features in Nextgen Gallery on frontend and also backend with tag management etc but ideally we would like to have just one product , many features you offer are great , but it doesnt feel complete.
would very much appreciate your detailed reply to all the points above .

with best regards
