If we have images in strange places - external AWS folder, for example - and we import them using WP Media Folder - will the post calling them automatically be updated to call the now-imported media files from the local server, rather than the AWS server?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

If we have images in strange places - external AWS folder, for example - and we import them using WP Media Folder - will the post calling them automatically be updated to call the now-imported media files from the local server, rather than the AWS server?

In WP Media Folder plugin, you can media from S3 bucket if you upload files using the plugin.
I'm not sure about your rest question, please give us more details about it.

A OK - An example might be a better way to explain.

We have a post that includes
<img src="http://otwstatgraf.s3.amazonaws.com/e_phizmiz_biog.jpg" hspace="10" alt="ergo phizmiz" width="162" height="154" align="right"/>

We'd like to use your plugin to import all of the graphics in https://otwstatgraf.s3.amazonaws.com/ in to our WP Media Library.

As part of the import process, does your plugin find https://otwstatgraf.s3.amazonaws.com/e_phizmiz_biog.jpg in the post and change it to (for example) https://yourwebsite.com/wp-content/2023/10/e_phizmiz_biog.jpg ?

If not, do we get a list containing
the full URL of where the files was -> the new location of the important file
eg
https://otwstatgraf.s3.amazonaws.com/e_phizmiz_biog.jpg -> https://yourwebsite.com/wp-content/2023/10/e_phizmiz_biog.jpg
so we can carry out a search and replace through our posts, so the graphic is loaded from our server and not the AWS anymore?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

Yes, you can import files from your S3 bucket; however, it's not possible to replace the S3 url with your local one.

Cheers.

Ok - Do we get a list containing of all the files that have been imported, so we end up with two columns:
1 - The full URL of where the files originally was
2 - The new location of the imported file

With that list we can then carry out a search and replace through our posts, so the graphic is loaded from our server and not the AWS anymore.

If we don't have that it'll be impossible to call the newly-imported file

Sorry, this is something not possible in our plugin.

How do we know which images have been imported then?
