Hello,
at the time being I am testing options to renew my outdated site bibelwelt.de - the new test version is here: http://s502188379.online.de/
I use the theme glades by themezee and for sliders the plug-in the Ultimate Responsive Image Slider Pro.

I was recommended to use WP Media Folder to keep order with my images in Wordpress. You say that I can generate galleries and sliders with WP Media Folder and the normal WP gallery function. Now I have some questions:

1. Is it possible to create galleries/sliders with WP Media Folder when using the glades theme by themezee?

2. Would these galleries/sliders be fully responsive (similar to UR Image Slider Pro)?

3. Is it right that I can insert many images of one folder at once in a new slider or gallery? (In UR Image Slider Pro I have to insert every single image from the WP-Mediathek (media library) into the slider - which is exhausting...)

4. There is another item in UR Image Slider Pro which I am discontented with: In the full screen slide show, which you get in this example:

http://s502188379.online.de/ostdeutsche-impressionen

by clicking on the diagonal arrows in the right upper corner of the slider, the images are cut at the top and at the bottom and you can't move them with holding the left mouse button to see the upper parts or the parts below.

Is there a way to make sliders with WP Media Folder that show really whole original size pictures in full screen mode?

5. Is it recommended to work with WP Smush in connection with WP media folder?

6. Is it recommended to copy different image versions into the WP media library by hand? Or is it better to let WP make this job - all the more if I want to have a responsive website?

I hope you are not irritated by my many questions and can give me good advice

With greetings
Helmut

Hi,
Thanks for contacting us here.

1. Is it possible to create galleries/sliders with WP Media Folder when using the glades theme by themezee?
- Yes, you can create a slider by using the Glades in WP Media Folder.

2. Would these galleries/sliders be fully responsive (similar to UR Image Slider Pro)?
- Yes, it should be fully responsive.

3. Is it right that I can insert many images of one folder at once in a new slider or gallery?
- Yes, you can choose many images at a time to put in slide/ gallery. Furthermore, WP Media Folder can automatically add to the gallery with new media from folder (see an attached file).

4. Is there a way to make sliders with WP Media Folder that show really whole original size pictures in full screen mode?
- Currently, our plugin doesn't have this feature.

5. Is it recommended to work with WP Smush in connection with WP media folder?
- I've never used this plugin before but it will work for sure. However, ImageRecycle is integrated with the plugin https://www.imagerecycle.com/

6. Is it recommended to copy different image versions into the WP media library by hand? Or is it better to let WP make this job.
- In this situation, it depends on your image dimension.

Hope it helps!

Thank you for answering that soon!

Just a few additional questions:

as for 1. - Yes, you can create a slider by using the Glades in WP Media Folder.
But I don't find any menu item in my wordpress admin board for producing galleries or adjust gallery settings. Where have I to search or what have I to do?

as for 5. - I've never used WP Smush but it will work for sure. However, ImageRecycle is integrated with the plugin...
Do I have this right: ImageRecycle comes along with your plugin, so there is no need to install another plugin which promises the same effects? Or doesn't it just matter which plugin I choose, WP Smush or ImageRecycle?

as for 6. Is it recommended to copy different image versions into the WP media library by hand? Or is it better to let WP make this job.
- In this situation, it depends on your image dimension.
a) I thought, I should not upload very large images, but from the start resize them with a short side of maximally 1000px and the long side proportionately longer. Would that be a good decision or should the images be bigger or smaller?
b) By my original question I intended to ask if it is recommended to set every image version (150*150, 300*300 or user defined) in the WP media library by hand? Some advisers say so, but I think it requires much additional time and I don't even know if I would provide the right image versions for the responsible features of the website. What do you think?

With my best regards

Hi,

as for 1. For more detail you should follow this link:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-demo/wp-media-folder-gallery-feature/

as for 5. Sorry, I missed some word: You can use both WP Meta SEO and ImageRecycle plugin. WP Meta SEO is integrated with the plugin ImageRecycle https://www.imagerecycle.com/

as for 6. If your site doesn't have any special design, you should use default settings. WP Media Folder is responsive but I'm not sure it looks good after you provide the different image versions.

Moin - as you say in Germany, Ostfriesland, all the day, which means "hello" or "have a good time" ;)

as for 1. So these features appear only when having installed WP Media Folder? I asked because in my present WP Admin Menu I find nothing about galleries.

as for 5. I am slightly confused about the different plugins (don't want to install too many). I usw Yoast SEO and I think I will not need another SEO-Plugin. Would you recommend ImageRecycle" as well for optimizing Images? Or doesn't it just matter which plugin I choose, WP Smush or ImageRecycle?

as for 6. This part of my question you did not answer: I thought, I should not upload very large images, but from the start resize them with a short side of maximally 1000px and the long side proportionately longer. Would that be a good decision or should the images be bigger or smaller?

Friendly greetings

Hi,

I think there's some errors in this posts, let me add some points.

Yes, you can create a slider by using the Glades in WP Media Folder.

You can create some galleries from the media manager (when you open the WordPress default media manager in a lightbox). Of course our plugin WP Media folder has to be installed :) Check out the documentation for more details: https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/wp-media-folder-documentation#toc-iii-manage-galleries

Is it recommended to work with WP Smush in connection with WP media folder?

ImageRecycle is integrated with WP Meta SEO but also with WP Media folder so you DON'T NEED to install WP Meta SEO. The plugin also works with WP Smush of course.
The main difference is that ImageRecycle is less expensive (compared to WP Smush PRO) and offer more options. But it's up to you :)

Is it recommended to copy different image versions into the WP media library by hand? Or is it better to let WP make this job.

WordPress make the image resize for you, you have the original image then 3 additional sizes: large, medium, thumbnail. Those sizes can be configured from the WordPress general settings (media section). The best practice would be to upload original images at the max size you need on your website (for example 2000px) then use the resized sizes on the website.
