I have been asked to look at WP Media Folder as a potential solution for reducing storage on our Media Folder on our website.

The primary purpose is to use multiple DFlip Book magazine instances that can open on our site.

The magazines are pretty hefty and in order to get them to fit on our Media folder, i have had to compress them down, but, compressing them also reduces the text visibility, which our members are complaining about.

If I implemented WP Media Folder and point each DFlip book instance to our Google Drive folder containing the PDF files, keeping the magazines at their original file size (about 100mb each) would we expect latency when users open a magazine using DFlip Book?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, you can connect to your Google Drive account in Media library using WP Media Folder plugin.
We just index file information on the library, files are actually stored on the cloud server.
Of course, your files will not be compressed while previewing on frontend.

Last question.

Will the WP Media Folder plugin allow us to link a video plugin on our site to our Google Drive without much latency (like linking to YouTube videos?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

Yes, certainly, you can add remote video in the Media library, the url should come from Youtube, Vimeo or Dailymotion.

Please go to the link below for further information:
