Automatic sizing in synchronized folders?

I just installed the plug-in and testing its features in real life. I observed, that when uploading a folder or single files, I can still find various versions of these files in different sizes. In opposite, when I activate synchronization of folders I can only find the original file and no other sizes. Isn’t that a speed limitation to my site, especially with lots of photos? Thanks for clarifying and/or a solution.
