I just tries a competitor and I could put the library assets into folders but when I would want to assign one to an eCommerce product the normal [unsorted] WP library would be all I could choose from.
The site in question is a Woo Commerce site.
Wii/Will not that be the case with 'Media Folder'?

WP Media Folder is compatible with WooCommerce and most of the other Wordpress plugins.
You will have the folders inside the media popup you'll use with WooCommerce
