Hi I wanted to check to see that WP File Download could do what I need for a site. #1 We want to have a section where all of our downloads are available and users can search via categories for downloads that fit their needs and #2 also have the ability to download individual files on separate pages. It looks like I can do that but wanted to make 100% sure!

The second question, is it possible to customize the icons for the downloads with an image file, such as a thumbnail of the file contents? Or are we limited to just changes to the colors?

Yes, we have a search engine, so users can search files through categories and then download them.

Yes, you can add your custom icon; however, a thumbnail will be generated automatically in the future version.

Can you customize the thumbnails, or will they automatically be generated from the download file? Also you said this would be a future version - is there an ETA on when that will be available?

Hi @all,

Let me explain clearly about the features.

- We are working on the new icons, then you can create/upload your own represent icons for file types.
The thumbnails for images has not been planned yet.

- The previewer for some content files: doc, pdf,... so users can preview some first pages of the document.
This is something we've planned in version 5.0.
