If using WP File Download to store documents of a sensitive nature, what security features exist such that if the site is hacked, protection of sensitive information in the files stored in WP File Download is kept safe?
Our files uploaded in our plugin are security. You can set the role for users to view or download on frontend.
Users can not view or download even if they have the file url.
Is there an option to enable encryption of the files when stored on the server?
Sorry, this option is not included in our plugin.
In case your site is hacked, you should use our WP File download Addon which helps you sync files to your cloud server.
Files are stored at cloud server (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive), so you do not worry about the information disclosure.
