Can a table be embedded into a page outside the main article?

Say I have a page with an article at the top and a drop table at the bottom of it. I would like the client to be able to collaborate with me on the table but I would not want them to be able to edit the article itself. is this possible? or editing permissions on the entire page apply to both the article and the table?

thanks

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Can a table be embedded into a page outside the main article?

Yes, you can use a custom module in this case, please go here for more details:

In the case of the frontend, a user can not edit the table if he can not edit the article.
User can edit the table if he has permission to access on Droptables management on frontend.

Please go this link for more information:

thanks for this.

I am trying to use tables to collaborate with clients on various projects. I need to make this as simple as possible and ideally provide only the necessary tools to avoid confusion etc.

how does table editing work in article embed mode? do tables use their own editors? are the editors adjustable (for instance by removing certain functions etc) or does it inherit the article editor?
how does table editing work in html mode? is it in front end? does it use its own editor or the article editor as above?

do tables support collapsible rows? like accordion effect? removing some information (columns or rows) while editing would help my clients with not getting lost in larger documents.

can media be inserted into cells?

can files be inserted into a table? is there support for uploading files into tables?
can remote linked files be inserted into a table? is there a file preview that comes with drop tables (I novethat there is a table preview)

Is the table manager only available in back-end? or is there a way of displaying tables in one place in front end for my users as well? can they be organised in a tree/folder structure?

many thanks

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

You can use module to edit tables inserted in the article using a custom module. It will use your default editor on your site.

do tables support collapsible rows? like accordion effect?

You can set a number of rows per page in this case.

removing some information (columns or rows) while editing would help my clients with not getting lost in larger documents.

This is something not possible in our Droptables.

You can insert images or URLs in cells using HTML option. However, files inserting and previewing are not supported in our extension presently.

You can use module to display tables on frontend as I said.
