Showing thumbs from original file - not only file-type thumbs (for pics and video)

Hi Team, i am searching for a solution, to present downloads not just with an icon for the file type. I want to show the thumbnail from the image / video. (not needed for pdf, xlsx or docx)
So it should a list of pictures to see what it behind the download ... instead the standard icons (in that view i can choose).
The rest (buttons for view in higher resolution and additional infos) are inside, as i understand the functionaliuty of this.

You can use Custom icon to show your thumbnails for files. Please go here fore more details:

But I need a thumbnail of the file.
For example, if you got a collections of pdf, I need to see the cover (as thumbnail) of each pdf, instead the pdf icon.
Is this possible?

If not, is possible to make a request about this?

You can put manually image for those pdf files presently. The thumbnails' generation automatically is not implemented yet.
Anyway, I noted this in our planning list.
