Hi,

I need to know which feature are available on Dropfiles.

1. Can I give the access to the same files to 2 different user groups? Or two different users?
2. Can we put an expiry to a file? The file would simply disappear at the expiration time and the user will not have access to it anymore.
3. Is it possible to have sub categories? I saw categories, but not child categories in the options.
4. Is it possible for the admin to receive a notification when a file is dropped by a user in the Front end
5. Is it possible to store files on Google Drive and display them in Dropfiles (frontend) WITHOUT storing it on the same server as the Joomla website? This will save a lot of space and require a less expensive hosting plan.

Many thanks for your answers and have a nice day,

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, you can set a few users to be able to view a file on frontend.

2. Can we put an expiry to a file? The file would simply disappear at the expiration time and the user will not have access to it anymore.

Yes, you can set the date in Finish publishing field in the single file settings.

3. Is it possible to have sub categories? I saw categories, but not child categories in the options.

Yes, permission can be inherited which is included in category settings. The restriction is the same as the question 1.

4. Is it possible for the admin to receive a notification when a file is dropped by a user in the Front end

Yes, we have email notification feature to admin if users add files.

5. Is it possible to store files on Google Drive and display them in Dropfiles (frontend) WITHOUT storing it on the same server as the Joomla website? This will save a lot of space and require a less expensive hosting plan.

Yes, Dropfiles is integrated with Google Drive. Of course, files will be stored on cloud servers to save space on your server.
