Could I get some clarification on the way the Google Drive integration works. If I plan on running my Joomla instance on a hosting provider that has limited storage space, but I have a large Google Drive storage pool, can I make use of Dropfiles+Google Drive and not take up any storage on my Joomla deployment? In other words, can I set it up so that ALL files remain exclusively on Google Drive? Or does Dropfiles mirror/sync the files to my Joomla deployment as well?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Yes, you can. That's the reason we developed the Cloud addon version. Let me clear my answer.

Files will be stored at the Cloud obviously. When a user download a Google driver file, Dropfiles will download from the cloud and stored temporarily on your hosting. After that it will send the file to user's browser. When user download completed, the file will be deleted.

We have Sync periodicity parameter also, for more information: https://www.joomunited.com/documentation/dropfiles-documentation#toc-6-2-login-to-google-drive-in-dropfiles

Hope it helps!
Cheers,
