It would be great to have an option in settings to prevent users from uploading files unless they've first selected a WP Media Folder to upload into. Maybe some help text could be displayed stating a folder must be selected first. We're trying to come up with strategies to keep files organized and not just dumped into the root of the Media Library.

Hi,

Thanks for adding your feature request here.

All files are upload to WP Media Folders will go to the root folder on server. Our plugin are based on WP Media Manager.
We've just created virtual folders to manage files easier on backend. For some technical reasons, I think this could not be implemented.

Cheers,

I understand all of the files are stored in the root of the uploads directory on the server. What I'm referring to is preventing the upload of files without preselecting a WP Media Folder to "tag" the uploads before they're uploaded. Otherwise, they are placed the the root WP Media Folder (different than server uploads folder).

Here's another enhancement requests that I opened that may help clarify: https://www.joomunited.com/support/pre-sales-forum/feature-ideas-for-wp-media-folder/provide-option-to-choose-destination-folder
