Logging 'who' has downloaded a file

There will be a notification email to user who downloaded files and Super user, owner of files or category also if you want. You should go to Options > Notification tab.

I got your point. That is something we have planned for a future major release: version 5.2 (we are currently in version 4.3.1).

Though it’s hard to give a precise date on new features release for various reasons.
It mainly depends on the development roadmap we've defined for the developer and problems we may encounter during this period

This feature would be REALLY helpful for us as well. This would allow us cater our services to our clients based on their needs - needs that are MEASURABLE by looking at the files they are downloading...hope this features comes sooner rather than later!!!
