Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Do you have a joomla demo site displaying Dropfiles ?

Yes, we have Dropfiles demo to represent our frontend features. Please go here for more details:

Thanks a lot!

On the link you sent, anything I click only gives popup slide shows. I want to see live site with sample demo files displayed for actual download. Do you have live site running the software? If so, please post link where I can download a sample file and experience what it is like.

Thanks
Hi,

There has been trouble on the website, it's now back to normal.

But only pictures, no demo of site running dropfiles software where you can actually download a sample file?
Yes, just hit the buttons or use the main navigation menu (see attached).

Let me know.

Thank you for clarifying where the actual demo is on that page. It is quite a busy page with many colors.

I see your joomla site has "Search Engine Friendly" URLs option turned on in the global settings. I asked about this before. Will I be able to use the "URL Rewriting" option in the global settings next to the SEO toggle, to redirect my docman links to dropfiles? In other words, do you use have this option turned on in Global Settings and use a .htacess file? (I can make general redirect links myself.)

Last Time I asked, you said this is not available.
Most Joomla sites hosted sites I know of use a .htaccess file. Why would dropfiles not work with one?
Hi,

Yes, you can make redirect to any URL, but doing that on many files won't be a bit complex, don't you think?
Note that we have Docman file importer that would be better, I think.

Ok, thanks for clarification. I can have SEF turned on with URL rewriting.

Say I have 46 categories in docman with total 2000 entries. I think I might just be able to redirect each docman file request to the base of the dropfiles category, but have to think about that one.

What I would be trying to do is when someone comes with an external link to the site, is to not deliver a 404, but a redirect to a general category.
I think I might just be able to redirect each docman file request to the base of the dropfiles category.

It can be done, sure, that's another good option, simple and quick :)

I installed DropEditor, since it was free, to see what it is like, although I use JCE. It seemed to install a truncated version of DropFiles also. When I upload a file, it places it in media/com_drofiles/42 folder with some numeric file name.

My question is, will DropFiles rename all my physical files when I import them from Docman?
