I'm trying out the free version. Although I have set WP Latest Posts to use the 'excerpt content' on the Advanced tab, and have specified Excerpt text in my latest post, WP Latest Posts isn't displaying the excerpt. It is showing a bit of the content from the full text.

I've attached some screenshots.

Are you using a specific page builder to add you excerpt?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. I'm using Wordpress's built-in Excerpt field. If it helps, the text that is showing up instead of the excerpt is the result of a plugin called Powerpress used by podcasters.

OK I think it could be a conflict with this plugin. I will include that in our check list for the next version.
