I will be providing free music manuscripts in pdf format. Will it be possible to use an mp3 player on the same page as file.

Yes, you can add a category including pdf and mp3 files or just insert single files in a post or a page.
And of course you can play the audio/video files by Preview button.

Will it be possible to have a donate button on the download page.

This is something not implemented yet, you should customize theme.

Is your charge a one of fee or is it for a one year licenseCan you point me to any examples of websites that use your download plugin to give me some idea of up and running funtionalityThanks

It's not really one time payment. You need renew to update or need our support after expiring.
