Date added for old files

Hi,

If you use the importer for files, you can setup the category name (.ie folder name) you want.

The process maybe a bit boring because you need to:
- Create a file category and add the name you want
- Import files from from, for example, 2015/04/14
- Create another category... and so on

If I get the premium plugin and use the Google Drive import, would that allow me to do this?

Yes you can import files in Google Drive categories or upload files in Google Drive and sync it in WP File Download (faster).

By uploading via Google Drive will this keep the date the file was created?

The date of the file creation correspond to the date when the file is created on the disk, never the date of its original creation.
WP File Download, Google Drive or any other Disk won't change that, I'm sorry.
But your files are sorted in folders with date numbers, right?

Nope that's not possible on WP File Download neither on Google Drive, sorry.

Where does the "date added" information for each file come from? Is there a way for either me or one of you to make this work for what we need? We are willing to pay.

The date added on WP File Download is stored in the database, so Yes you can change it from there.
It won't work with a cloud synchronization though.

We don't do any custom development here but this is something that can be done with a specific import script.

Can you please provide me with information about how to do that? I have changed the files to now use the "Date Modified" instead of having hundreds of unique folders. How can I write an import script that'll allow me to use this date as the "Date Added"?
