Is it possible to create custom ACF fields and / or custom taxonomies for the download post type? And then show the fields in columns?

Similar to this:
https://barn2.com/wordpress-document-library-plugin/#add-extra-fields-to-the-wordpress-document-library

This is really the only feature holding us back here since it severely limits how users can sort and see columns around different downloads.

We use DropFiles on Joomla currently, but moving to WP and need this.

Thanks again

This is something not possible in our plugin currently. We will consider it in the future version.
If you want to download your media in the Library, we have that option in the Grid view.

Please go here for more details:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the update on that. Hope you can provide ACF support soon.

On another note, is it possible for a WordPress backend user with a specific role to be only able to manage. and edit files in specific categories (including some assigned to their role, not created by them)? Thanks!

It's possible to manage folders and files created by them only if you select by User
or they can see other with the same role if you select by User role.

Please go here for more information:

Thanks a lot!

Hi there,

That link is for WP Media Folder, but my question pertains to DropFiles and limiting permissions of users based on WordPress role and DropFiles categories and file management. Can you clarify?

Thanks

Hi inspry,

Thanks for your message.

Oh, sorry, I thought you are asking about WP Media Folder plugin. I moved this to the right category.
Yes, in your case, you can use our WP File download to restrict files and categories as your Dropfiles.
However, it's not possible to manage files on the frontend in our WP File download currently.

You can go here for more details:
