if gridbox has call to content.prepare then our extension will work well with gridbox.if not then you need to do override and call content.prepare
its like echo @text to
$text = \Joomla\CMS\HTML\HTMLHelper::_('content.prepare', $text);
echo $text in joomla4
echo JHtml::_('content.prepare', $text); //in joomla3
you need to discuss with there development team whether they are calling Triggering content plugins in gridbox extension or not?
