Hello,

Does Droppic only load images into the K2 content/text area?

Or can it load images via the Image Tab? (the process for K2 Catalog Mode)

I'm looking for a way to crop single images (products) in K2 Catalog Mode, to accommodate a square thumbnail displaying on the category page. The image only needs to be cropped, as needed, per size options (xsmall, small, medium, large, xlarge). The full image (uncropped) will display on the Item/Article page.

Does this make sense? Screen shots attached.

Or am I looking at the wrong product for what I need to do? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

Yes, the K2 plugin allows only to load galleries in K2 WYSIWYG fields.
You can load an image from Droppics as images are in "image/com_droppics" folder but it's not easy to find and fast.

Maybe the gallery plugin from K2 can do that?

The workaround process your describing; upload via Droppics, crop/resize image, then re-upload using K2 Image Tab from "image/com_droppics" folder. Is that correct? Will that folder be in K2 Media Manager? Or located where?

This could work if the cropped image was being used through out the site. But the image only needs to be cropped for the Category page thumbnail. It needs to remain the original image (not cropped) when displaying on the Items page.

I'll take a look at the K2 gallery plugin again and see what other options it has.
