Image grid with hyperlinks possible?

I am running my website Joomla 3.3.6.

I am interested in making a gallery of images in a grid format.

I would need each image to have a hyperlink that goes to a different webpage when clicked on (in same window or tab). I would want this inserted either into a Joomla article. I need control over how many images are in the gallery, how many per row, and image size. I would also like the option of having no blank space between the images.

I am looking to create a website that looks similar to this Squarespace site:

Or a grid with no space between images like this example:
http://demo.joomlabamboo.com/?theme=may16

Is this possible with Droppics?
