Hello,

I'm trying to secure my PDF and other files throughout my web site. Hopefully Dropfiles is the solution.

I have a few questions on the extension...

1. Is there a way to bulk import files from a given directory? (e.g. have it either search a set of directories or recursively from a starting point) (I would assume so, but want to make absolutely sure)
2. Once I get the files into Dropfiles database, is there an easy way I can search and replace all the <a href=...> references to the filename so it points to Dropfiles? I was thinking I would have to do this at the joomla database level and script it somehow.
3. Is the URL that I pass to Dropfiles (once I finish #2 above) "transparent" to the user without the user having to go through any additional pages? (let's assume that I set the appropriate permissions on the files obviously)

I'm looking for the easiest way for me to currently protect the files on my web site in the shortest amount of time and least effort. :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

You can import a bunch of files in a category at this time.

2. Once I get the files into Dropfiles database, is there an easy way I can search and replace all the <a href=...> references to the filename so it points to Dropfiles?

You should do it manually or write a script following your posibility.

3. Is the URL that I pass to Dropfiles (once I finish #2 above) "transparent" to the user without the user having to go through any additional pages?

Sure, users can see their file categories following their permission, you can restrict access at backend.

Please go here for more information:

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
