Hello,

I have been looking into the Dropfiles component and I would like to know if it is possible to set it up together with the Projectfork Repository and hereby be able to store file at our Google Drive account so the files not are stored at our server.

In the Projectfork File Repository Admin under options, it is possible to setup a specific directory, please see attached screenshots. Could this directory be the Dropfiles directory so each project would have their own individual file directory on our Google Drive which would be special dedicated only to serve the Projectfork File Respository?

Projects owners on our website would them upload and download files via Dropfiles to and from Google Drive.

Best regards,
Finn

Hi,

You can't exactly do that but maybe there's a way. In fact you can't be able to set the folder destination for dropfiles files for various technical reason, it's under images/com_dropfiles/folder/sub_folder

But Dropfiles have Joomla ACL with action, you may allow user to manage only their own files and so on give access to a category of file per project. And yes, each Google Drive category in dropfiles will be a folder in your Google drive so you can make a double way sync (like in the video you may have seen).

Note: there's an importer to import files from any FTP folder

Hi Tristan,

Thank you for your reply.

It sounds like there is a potential solutions using Dropfiles as the integration between Projectfork and Google Drive.

Projectfork default path is media/com_projectfork/repo/subfolders for each project.

I am not sure how the best way forward should be. A test would be great but I am not sure if you want to provide Dropfiles for a test. I know that there is several people who are interested at the ProjectFork Forum in a cloud file storage solution so if it is working I think that you would see some sales coming your way.

I will share your information at the Projectfork Forum at my post where we are discussing the cloud file storage for Projectfork.

Cheers,
