does anyone know if this works along with jch optimize? or would it be redundant?

I'm sorry, Speed Cache is not free. If Jch works well with you, keep on running it. Nevertheless, our extension has some advantages such as: page caching, a preloading cache system,.. and everything under control from the Speed Cache dashboard.
Anyway, it depends on your purpose, I think everything has its value
