Hi there,

I posted a request on ticket but was asked to post here. I have a quite an urgent feature request. I am creating a WooCommerce Product Uploader user role. They will be able to access the 'folders' I created in order to maintain the categorisation structure.

I understand your 'folders' aren't actual folders but a visual taxonomy. However, could you please add a feature where we can prevent other users from deleting and creating new 'folders' so they maintain the structure I as the admin created in the first place.

I need other users to be able to access the folders I created, but not edit, delete or create new folders. It runs the risk of them mistakenly breaking the folder structure or deleting folders.

Is this possible and how easy would this be?

Many Thanks,
Jawad

Hi,

You mean give option to:
- Restrict the possibility to users other than admin to: Add/remove folders
- Restrict the possibility to users other than admin to: Add/remove media

We can't give dates or guaranties on new features for various reasons.
It mainly depends on the development roadmap we've defined for the developer and problems we may encounter during this period :)

Hi Tristan,

Yes that is correct what you said. The second point:

- Restrict the possibility to users other than admin to: Add/remove media (I think this is already default capability within Wordpress 'upload_files')?

Instead can you do:

- Restrict the possibility to users other than admin to: Rename Folders
- Restrict the possibility to users other than admin to: Move Folders

I understand, but can you confirm this feature can be added to roadmap? How busy are you at the moment? Will this take 1-2 weeks or 1-2 months?

Many Thanks,
Jawad

Yes it can be added to our roadmap but for the delay I would say a while... because we are are very busy on a current version + the next one will be an addon (cloud integration). If it's something urgent for you or your project I would recommend to hire a developer on your side, sorry.

Cheers,
