I really appreciate the quality of Media Folders and the Gallery features, but I wish there were more configuration options for the showing of titles and captions for the various gallery types, it would be so useful.

In particular, at the moment, I'd like to be able to turn off the titles that show in Masonry Lightbox. All the image titles were copied across (by default) on import from the filenames (boring date and time strings), and they serve no useful purpose for my slideshows.

I know I could go through each image and delete the title, but sometimes I might not want a title to show. In any case, even if the titles were of some use, there are times when it would be good to not show them at all, or use the caption, or any combination or not, on a case by case basis.

I see on experimenting, the same is true of the other types of gallery in one form or another, there are certain defaults that sometimes would be best to not show, or maybe just show the caption rather than the title for instance.

Is this something that's possible to implement? It would also be good to be able to choose what particular meta info shows on the page and then again different on the lightbox (even including the description perhaps).

Maybe there's some CSS I could add to hide the title or show captions etc, either on a gallery by gallery basis, or even just site-wide would do me at the moment?

Thanks for the reply.

I already did a support ticket for help and instead was just referred to enter my suggestions here.

Not much help then!

NB - I didn't get an email about this response - I recently raised a ticket about missing emails from JoomUnited and was assured all was now fixed/okay. Also did not get emailed a receipt after renewing my subscription. I have checked mail server logs, looks like the mail from this answer was filtered as being on a spam list:

Hi,

Yes indeed this is a feature request as it can be handled by a setting.
2 information: We've planned in a future release to implement default setting to galleries. We will release soon an dedicated addon to galleries with more layout and options, maybe it'll help too.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Cheers,
