Hi,
I’m the developer of Desktop Media Uploader for WordPress, a Windows and macOS application that uploads media into the standard WordPress Media Library.
I’m interested in adding optional support for WP Media Folder so users can select one of their existing media folders in the desktop app and upload directly into it.
Desktop Media Uploader uses its own optimized upload workflow, so its uploads do not pass through the normal WordPress upload hooks. Because of that, WP Media Folder would not automatically detect the new attachments or assign them to a selected folder.
For a reliable integration, Desktop Media Uploader would need:
A supported way to retrieve the WP Media Folder folder tree, including folder names, folder IDs, and parent relationships.
A supported function or hook for assigning a newly created WordPress attachment to the selected folder through the same workflow used by WP Media Folder itself.
It is important that the assignment also preserves normal WP Media Folder behavior, including automatically adding new attachments to galleries linked to that folder.
Could you let me know whether these integration points already exist, or whether your team would be open to exposing them?
