It would be fantastic if Media Folder had the ability to import external video links as media items with the same duplicate and replace functions that images have. Having the ability to embed video links to products pages, for example, and then be able to upload a new version of the video and update the link throughout the site by just copying and pasting the new video link into the media item would be fantastic.

Thanks for the great response on this feature. I have a couple of follow-up questions/feature requests:

1) Could you add a checkbox in the insert media dialogue for "Embed Video" which would simply add [embed][/embed] around the code when it is inserted to the page? It would be nice to have a one-click option. It might also be nice to have the option to set "Embed Video" as a default in the WP Media Library settings.

2) I tried inserting a video and then changing the url of the library item. Any references to the video were not updated. So right now it appears that adding them to the library just adds a static link. Is there any way to make the library videos dynamic so that when the library item is updated all references to that item are updated?

Please add the option to deactivate this new feature/button. Because our users should not be able to add videos in galleries and sliders. It's not allowed by our Corporate Design. Furthermore, it doesn't work with these items because they look for img tags and not iframes. Or just make sure that when a video is selected there is no multiselect and no way to create a slider/gallery with these items.

Hi,

When you talked about slider, you mean WordPress default gallery feature, right?
LM
We use bootstrap carousel for slider and the gallery is a full-width image with a grid of images below. That's defined like this by our CD. But with your update now, if we select multiple gallery items including video our slider and gallery aren't working anymore. We can not change our whole code (just because of the facts that users should not be able to insert videos in such sliders or galleries). So a simple deactivate flag in settings, like for the watermark, would be very convenient.
