One of the big things missing from WordPress is a built-in lightbox display for photos and photo galleries inserted into posts. The default WP gallery layout is really nice and none of the other plugins, including the WP Media Folder Gallery Addon, provide as nice a layout when uneven numbers of images are added.
There are several third party plugins that will insert a lightbox script and automatically make the images show in a lightbox. However, this is again a feature that would best be done within the WP Media Folder/Gallery plugin.
I am using the Photonic WordPress plugin to achieve this because it has what I have found to be the best lightbox script, which is Spotlight.
That script has all the right features and looks the cleanest. It works well on mobile, it works well with touch and pinch zoom, and it has other useful features such as full-screen, magnify and download etc.
So, my suggestion is to add a feature to WP Media Folder to insert the Spotlight lightbox script for any linked images or galleries inserted into posts etc.
Thanks for considering this one too!
