Shortcode for pre-selecting search categoriest

Hello,

Is it possible to introduce additional short-codes to pre-select search categories or is there an equivalent that already exists?

Why it would be helpful:

1. Files are stored on a Dropbox account and searching for a file takes forever if the category short-code is turned off / no category selected.
2. If the category short-code is turned on users will have to scroll through a long list of folder and sub-folders to reach the intended category.
3. User may be confused by two search buttons.

Please let me know if this is at all possible.
