Hi,

Please make the front-end search include the category names and not just folders. I've got a file structure with around 400 categories so it would be helpful to be able to return the categories on search.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for adding your feature request here.
Please make the front-end search include the category names and not just folders. I've got a file structure with around 400 categories so it would be helpful to be able to return the categories on search.

Your idea is so useful for a huge number of files. Could you give me more details or example of how it would look like?

Cheers,
J
Hi,

On our site, we have the following structure for categories:

> All files
>> Client 1
>>> Subcategory 1
- File 1
- File 2
- File 3
>>>Subcategory 2
- File 4
- File 5
- File 6
.
.
.
>>>Subcategory 400
- File 2001
- File 2002
>>Client 2
.
.
.

In terms of how this would look in Search, I wouldn't necessarily change the search interface. Just have search include the category names and categories can be represented in the search results with their own icon. I guess the trick would be how to go from the search results to showing the files in a category. Perhaps that opens in a new window? Alternately, the search is more integrated with the file display. Currently, they are separate shortcodes but you could have a shortcode that integrates file viewer and search. In that way, search is more like filters for the viewer and so the file viewing area would either be all results or just those that meet the search criteria (including folders that match).

Thanks,

R.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.
I understand your requirement, but I'm not sure how simple or complicated it is to develop.
We will need to discuss more about your request in the future meetting.
Anyway, we noted that on our customers' feature ideas.

Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
