Adding restriction of download to registered users only.
it can be a specific folder, files or restriction for any content.

Yes, you can set permission for registered user to view a category.

users are registered with email and pass only. approval for registration is sent to email first.

I'm sorry, this feature is impossible now. We will note that in mind for a future version.
