I would love to have the ability to display a file with a name other than the actual file name. We use the File Download plugin to manage a ton of files for our company intranet and the names given to the files aren't always the best names for displaying them.
Another helpful feature would be the ability to have a direct file URL. I often have to place the shortcode for a folder and preview it just to grab the Preview link for a single file because I dislike the appearance of the single file download link. Having access to a direct file URL would save a step.
Finally, it would be great to be able to assign multiple categories to files. For example, I have a company form that needs to be displayed in two different locations, but I don't want to have two different versions uploaded, potentially causing version control issues down the line. I currently have to use HTML/CSS to mimic the style of the template being used to make the shared file appear as though it is in the same category as the other files.
