Several ideas:
1- add an Elementor widget. More and more people are using Elementor as it is sooo powerful, but Elementor lacks (and will forever lack) WP File Download features.
2- Add file thumbnail preview, BTW lightbox preview is a hit or miss, plz fix it if you can
3- add an upvote feature to this forum

This is something we have planned for a future major release: version 4.9.
The thumbnails for files is not implemented yet, we'll keep that in mind for a future release!
If you encounter any issues with preview option, please drop us a ticket support (Menu Support > Ticket Support)
Our dev will help you in details.
