Multi Search Engines

it would be great to have option to have multi serach engines, and in each engine tell in which categorie / subcategories it have to search.

Mmmm no, it is not what i meant.
I already have WP File download and i know that there is a serach engine that shows ALL of the categories and subcategories in the Category Filter.

What i meant is to have a second or third or any unlimited number of NEW Search Engines (with other shortcode each one of course) where in each you can choose which of the Categories to show in the Category Filter, for example in your demo says Categories Filter Select One and this select shows ALL of your categories / sub categories / sub sub categories.... the idea is to only show for example in a Search Engine Category Filter this and only this (cat/subcat/sub subcat):

GDD theme category
Sub category 1
Suc category 2
New Category 3
Sub sub category

And in other NEW Search Engine (with other shortcode ) to show only in the search filter (cat/subcat):

Table theme category
Sub category 1
Sub category 2

So with this we could have many search engines as we need just to show what we want to filter.
I hope i have explained correctly, my english is not so good and it's hard for me to express what I think in English.

Thanks for the request!
The search engine in the configuration is a shortcode generator, you can generate and use as many shortcode as you want with different configuration.
The limit is that you can to select a root category by default (not a list of categories), is that the point? (just to clarify).

If i understood you correctly the limitation right now is that i CANT select specific categories to show in the select, by default the ROOT category is shown.

Yes, my point is to have the option to choose an specific category and not the root.

For example, in a shortcode add an extra text telling which category to call... cat_ID="catIDnumber" or something like that.

[wpfd_search cat_filter="1" tag_filter="1" display_tag="checkbox" create_filter="0" update_filter="0" file_per_page="30" cat_ID="267"]

And with this, the search engine will only show the Category with id 267 and the sub categories / sub sub categories inside this ID 267 category

For example, im developing a website in 3 languages and some content are restricted to certain countries, im using WPML for multilanguage and Custom Content by Country (by iControlWP) plugin to control information for countries.

In WP File Download plugin I have different categories for download files for specific countries, for example, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brasil, Panamá, all of them have sub categories

Mexico
Manuals
Brochures
Data sheets

Panamá
Manuals
Brochures
Data sheets

Guatemala
Manuals
Brochures
Data sheets

And so on...

With Content by country plugin i can control what information be shown in which country, and with this plugin i can show which SEARCH ENGINE will be shown.

And with my FEATURE REQUEST, im going to be able to show for each country a SEARCH ENGINE with its OWN category. And they wont see the files of other categories (countries)

That's correct, In the search engine you can select any category with its own subcategory to be loaded. by default.
What you CANT do is select a set of category, for example several subcategories.

So, this feature / idea is possible for the future?

(i know for what i need i can show the categories using the categories shortcode [wpfd_category id='267'] but this themes dont have a search field)
