Hello.

I would like to suggest an improvement in the option for Choose Category in the Divi Module WPFD File Category.

When we have several folders of categories, it turns out to be difficult to select quickly in the Select menu. We can search for it, but it turns out to inefficient if we have several sub folders in categories and/or if we have several sub folders with the same name in each parent folder.

I will attach two prints to show as example. I have several products, each of them are a Category and they have sub folders of several sub categories like Videos, Datasheets, content for End User and others.

If I search for Videos, I will get all the sub folders of Videos from all the main categories. If I search for this main category, I wont see the sub categories like Videos.

I think it would be nice if this select menu show completely the category and sub category when we search for it.

Thank you.
Hi,

I see the issue with the categories names. Do you mean you want to see the full category tree in the search suggestions?

Cheers,
A

Hello. I guess that would be nice.

To be more clear, imagine this category tree:

  • Category A
  • - sub category Datasheet
    - sub category End User
    - sub category Videos
  • Category B
  • - sub category Datasheet
    - sub category End User
    - sub category Videos
  • Category C
  • - sub category Datasheet
    - sub category End User
    - sub category Videos

If I search for "A", the module doesn't show me its sub categories Datasheet, End User and Videos. I can only select "A".

If I search for "Videos", it shows me all "Videos" sub categories from all Categories and it doesn't show me which one is it.

Perhaps a good solution, in this example, would be to show "Category A / Videos" in the result when we search for "Videos".

With a few categories this is not a big problem but with several categories and sub categories the way it is today is a bit time consuming to select the proper categories as the list shows every category and sub categories. I hope this make the suggestion more clear.

Thank you.
Thanks, noted.
