I'm using WP Download now with a client and they'd like to have the search interface where files show up much cleaner, so they'd like the ability to turn off Version, Size, Hits and Date Added so the only thing users would see is the icon, title and the download button. Also it would be nice if the search feature could be customized with the different themes.

Yes, it should be customized the theme setting and theme selection on the search engine.
We will consider this in a future release. Anyways, we noted that in our planning list.
