Hi, it would be very useful if the permission to view/edit categories could be based on roles rather than on ownership as it is implemented at the moment.

The need I have is to have several roles (created with other plugins) have different views of the admin category tree.
This is because I need categories that are editable only by some roles.

The idea is to limit the backend editing capability as the visibility of category is limited in the frontend when the "Visibility" property is set to Private and single roles are allowed to see categories and download their contents.

In this way I could have roles that are only allowed to see contents in the frontend (and I can limit their access to the backend) and roles that can administer the content in the backend.

This would be helpful in a few cases. We’ll keep that in mind for a future release!

Cheers,
