Category Expansion on Load

I want to be able to have a post with access to a broader file category, but highlight a particular category for the users. See attached, I want the users to have access to browse the 'archive' folder, but I would like the '2017' folder to be expanded by default when the user opens the page. At present, both folders are collapsed every time the page loads. I would like an argument I can add to the short code or insertion code similar to your data-category='[folder #]' something like cat-expand='[comma separated list]' and the specified folder IDs would be expanded when the frame loads.
