Many modal plugins offer Title, Description, and sometime other options (download link, social sharing…).
Droppics have Title and Alt text. Title + optional Description + Alt text may be better without adding too much complexity.
The title may be displayed with thumbnails (as with Polaroid Theme). The title and description displayed in the modal window.
